We're opening the group to the general public again because our elected officials must pay more attention to the plight of violent crime victims. EXAMPLE? There have been 14 home invasions and 13 armed street robberies in Natomas since June 1, 2008.
A concerned community filled over capacity the theater of Inderkum High School on June 30, 2008. We heard details of the crimes but little about long term solutions. Remember just weeks ago we heard crime is down. We believe that all residents and businesses have a right to a voice in policies that impact our safety and quality of life. This includes full accountability in all aspects of the criminal justice system at the city, county and state level.
If you support police on the street, believe the city can do a better job of police staffing in your neighborhoods or have been a victim where lack of resources impact you, this is your opportunity. We're about solutions rather than knee-jerk reactions.
WE THE PEOPLE must act responsibly and share ownership of public safety. We can be one of two things: Part of the Problem or Part of the Solution. Much can be done if people don't care who gets the credit. NETWORKING is the key!
“ As an opening salvo, we presented reasonably well. We lacked the preparation to be truely effective. ”
“ Our good-natured and honorable, though small, nucleus of activists can bring great benefits to all of our neighbors i ”
